Ornate Edwardian Hallmarked Sterling Silver Hand Mirror Film PropA fine sterling silver Edwardian hand mirror with floral chasing, scroll work & the original bevelled mirror. This wonderful Art Nouveau dressing table accessory is in very good condition for its age. It has a central vacant cartouche & it is fully hallmarked. The maker was William Devenport. The mirror was assayed at Birmingham in 1903. The mirror gives an accurate reflection but it has quite a few age related marks which make it seem all the more
The cartouche is surrounded by elaborate scroll work
which was often retailed through such high end outlets as Asprey's
The mirror bezel & the brass surrounds of the lid & base are gilt
The lid & base have wonderful guilloche engraving
