Eclogite is a metamorphic rock formed at very high temperatures and pressures kilometres deep with in the mantle or lowermost part of the earths crust. It is mainly red pink Garnet and green Pyroxene though it may also contain other minerals such as Kyanite, Amphibole and Zoisite. It is a rare rock found only in areas where the deep crust has been forced to the surface. This Eclogite is from Germany.
