Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin), Vosne Romanee Clos Frantin(the blend is mostly from Damaudes with a small proportion of Hautes Maizires). There is just enough reduction to shave the top notes from the red currant, lavender, violet and subtle spice inflected aromas. I like the seductive texture of the satiny flavors that contrast somewhat with the firm and mildly robust but not really rustic finish. 88 2024+

A qualitative choice but note that these are two very different wines

This is an elegant and classy if not particularly dense wine

The nose is open-knit and expressive with layers of wet stone and spicy lemon skin
