Description
Nicolas Potel, Clos Saint DenisThis presently displays a rather curious nose of reduction, oatmeal and yeast though the flavors are rich, forward, supple, exuberantly sappy, generous, delicious and nicely focused with good finishing persistence and solid depth. That said, it is not at the level of the best in this range of grands crus.
Made from a blend of Carricante and Grecanico Dorato (on their original roots)
floral and rich
A blend of 46% Sauvignon Blanc
with touches of eucalyptus
Finishes on a resonating pear note
full and sleekly muscled big-bodied flavors that are highly complex
balanced and sneaky long finale
closed in on itself
but the fruit here is even more gorgeous and seductive
white flowers and white pepper open first
The full clusters were foot trodden and fermented in a tronconic oak vat with indigenous yeasts and matured in 225-liter barrels and 2
A yield of 30hl/ha
