Marc Roy, Gevrey Chambertin Vv(from ~70 year old vines). Ripe but fresh aromas include those of plum, black cherry, cassis and plenty of earth influence. The opulent, concentrated and powerful larger scaled flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm tannic spine shaping the balanced, long and complex finale. This is a very good Gevrey villages and worth your interest.

so they had to do a very soft vinification and an extended élevage

Here the nose is actually quite similar to that of the Bèze save for the fact that the aromas are slightly cooler and more restrained as well as a bit less spicy

This is a very opulent and rich expression with forward determination and power

The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin

definitely makes up for the lost ground

This is not overly concentrated but the harmony of expression is impressive and I very much like the complex floral quality of the finale

But I firmly feel that recent vintages from Errazuriz completely outshine the older ones and speaking at length with winemaker Francisco Baettig
