SOLD…..A pair of paste set silver knee buckles. c1800A matching pair of silver knee buckles set with pastes. The chapes are made of steel and the silver frames very slightly arched The silver is unmarked. c 1800 1. 5 x 1 inch In excellent condition all the pastes are there and are original. Stock no. LB12

Folded it measures 11 x 7

The piercing has survived with no damage and the lenses are clear

* Although they were intended for a packet of needles this one has 'Pens' handwritten in ink on the base

It looks unused except for a missing front page

The main body is turned rosewood and the top a disc set with miniature parquetry

A square blue cut glass scent bottle with a screw on silver lid but no stopper

A lace maker's parchment pricker inscribed with the name Thomas Manning in the style of spiral lace bobbins

A pierced and carved vegetable ivory thimble case with a Stanhope in the handle

The spring action on both is good and the silver cover on the spring is decorated with steps and cross hatching

They are mid 19th century and have well decorated gilt lids

The side is carved and painted with flowers and the phrase  'A Present from Cheltenham'
