Olivier Merlin, Pouilly Fuisse Sur Roche(from Vergisson and will be a 1er as of the 2020 vintage). Here the wood is no longer subtle though neither is it invasive on the ultra floral suffused aromas of cool pear, apple and spiced tea nuances. The dense, powerful and palate soaking flavors also possess a plenitude of dry extract that imparts a sappy texture to the impressively long finale. This isnt especially refined but it doesnt lack for character.

but one that is well-crafted

There is good freshness in the mouth as the vibrant and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors also possess a relatively refined mouth feel though the delicious and persistent finish is slightly sweet

The 1999 Rocche is rich

This too is impressive and a wine that should reward close to a decade of keeping
