Albert Boxler, Riesling Brand KThe 2016 Riesling Grand Cru Brand Kirchberg (abbreviated as Brand K on the European label) is from the east facing part of the cru and opens with a beautifully pure and delicate bouquet of milled granite and perfectly ripe Riesling berries. This has an enormous and already elegant nose, and I can hardly imagine how the Brand could be expressed in a better way. The palate is generously fruity, almost round and lush, based on perfectly ripe and healthy

Since vintage 2018

ripe Sangiovese that caresses rather than challenges the palate

There is fine volume and intensity to the nicely detailed middle weight flavors that conclude in a persistent

Deep crimson

a portion of which abut Griotte)

2015 is the first vintage of this cuvée

slightly austere yet very complex flavors supported by dusty

This will require up to a decade to be fully mature though it should be approachable after only 5 to 6 years

A far from truculent teenager

almost creamy textured Kabinett that is light and piquant

cocoa and mulled currant aromas and flavors

This is just beginning to give its best
