A pair of 18th century paste set shoe buckles.A pair of unmarked silver buckles set with old pastes. The chape prongs are also silver with traces of gilding. There is a tiny mark on the back of one buckle but this looks like a fault in the casting rather than a silver mark. c1780. In good condition The pastes look to be all original under a lens and there aren't any missing. 5 x 4. 5cm Stock no. LH16
The key shape is the locking mechanism which secures the cork bung in the glass ink bottle
