Vintage 1930s Red Glass Rolled Gold NecklaceVintage 1930s Art Deco beaded necklace featuring vibrant red glass beads. The two set of glass beads have been faceted to catch the light, they are strung on rolled gold. Rolled gold is a hybrid metal consisting of fine layers of gold which are fused by heat to create one or both sides of the base metal of brass or copper, The layers are rolled into sheets and contain 5% of gold. The process was patented in England 1817, it became popular in the 1920s

On the back of the pieces the metal has ridged texture featuring the makers mark M
