Antique Japanese Military Horse Flag Chrysanthemum Army Sake CupThis is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a horse, a flag, and a big chrysanthemum. The words are "3rd Transport Battalion" "Discharge Commemoration". The soldier's name Saito is on the back. Condition: Mint Size: 3" across

It sank in 1944 at Palau and was a major blow to the IJN as it meant they lost significant repair capabilities away from home

and the other is the national flag the Hinomaru

and on the back are the maker's mark

Condition: Excellent - light weathering on the surface

This is a very rare set of antique Japanese military sake cups

with the words "68th Infantry Regiment 25th Regimental Banner Receiving Commemoration Celebration"

then a part of Manchukuo

The 3rd Division seems to like these very nicely decorated dishes and makes one every year for their annual wargames

The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with an anchor as the base

Condition: Excellent - light fading of the rim
