A small framed stipple engraving of a classical lady. c1800A small wooden frame containing a print of a classical lady playing a lyre. The print is a stipple engraving circa 1800. The wooden frame is in very good condition and has a decorative, patinated gilt metal inner mount. The glass is intact. There is a little brass suspension ring so it could be hung in a display. The frame is 7 cm in diameter ( 3 inches ). The aperture for the print 3. 5 cm ( 1. 5 inches ). Stock no. JR37

The fine steel wire mesh is coiled onto the head of a steel pin

It is cleverly carved to retain the purple colour at the top using the white part of the shell as the background
