SOLD........Two pairs of early steel buttonhole scissors. 19thcTwo pairs of steel scissors both with cut out blades for creating a buttonhole. One pair is possibly by Lund ( the lettering is quite faint ) of an early style and having a hatched rivet. The other is marked 'Repeat' which was used by C E Needham & Co of Sheffield from 1860 to 1900. The Lund one measures 8 cm long and the other 9. 5 cm In good condition some patination and light pitting. Stock no. KM48

It is stamped on the barrel 'John Sheldon 1086 Feb 8 1842'

The studs and pin are in excellent order and the outer box is in good order

A thimble made entirely of mother of pearl

A small but quite heavy mahogany box edged in brass and decorated with brass and tortoiseshell in the style known as Boulle

There are two small holes which indicate it would have been suspended on a cord from the waist originally

The long silver barrel would have held a stick of graphite called a wad
