Vintage African Tuareg Rug Mat:: Vintage handmade African tuareg rug mat. Circa 1950s, this handwoven rug mat is full of character and charm. Believed to be made by the Tuareg people in around Niger. When making, the weavers would often merge multiple pieces of straw together by inserting one into another to create a piece long enough to weave. Sold in as found vintage handmade condition with some stains and tatter. In some cases flushing clean water through the mat may be needed
