Bedrock Wine Co., Nervo Ranch HeritageThe 2019 Nervo Ranch Heritage is an Alexander Valley release, and the vines here were planted in the late 1890s on a 30 degree slope of shale just outside the town of Geyserville. Lots of spice, herbes de Provence, mulled cherries, and licorice notes all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium bodied, with a lively, elegant texture, present tannins, and a good finish.

It offers layers and layers of fruit

spice and a whiff of lavender

This is definitely on the lighter side and while the VA isn’t likely to bother most tasters

floral and spice scents are underscored by emerging mineral and succulent herb flourishes

Touches of menthol and wood surround the floral and pepper scented nose that isn’t quite as fresh as that of the Montmains

It has a contained 14% alcohol and great balance

Pungent aromas of reduction and wood toast dominate the nose at present so be sure to give this some air first

white peach and seaweed

lemon rind and a subtle matchstick character

Bâtonnage and aged in chestnut and acacia

This beauty should amply reward a decade of cellar time
