It reveals a beguiling nose of baking spices, dusty earth, garrigue and red raspberries. This full bodied, plush wine is also amazingly fresh, with almost painful concentration and intensity that powers through the mocha and caramel tinged finish. Ideally, give it a few years in the cellar and drink it

The palate is perhaps showing its age a bit more with ferrous red fruit

This is carrying more wood than I can warm up to but the density suggests that it will eventually be absorbed if you have the patience to wait

but it is swathed in copious tobacco-drenched black fruit and a superb line of acidity
