2021 Hewitson Single Monopole Mother Vine Shiraz 750mlThe grapes for this vineyard originate solely from a single 1853 Shiraz vine discovered within The Old Garden. Over time, we meticulously harvested buds from this vine and grafted them onto roots at our winery. As a result, we now boast one hectare of ancient pre Phylloxera 'Slection Clonale', deriving exclusively from this 1853 vine, with its distinct flavor and tannin characteristics. Alcohol ABV: 13. 5%
Aged in slightly used barriques for 12 months followed by several months of bottle aging
and tropical fruits mingle with a hint of oak
fennel and spicy pepper aftertaste
