Bruno Clair, Gevrey Chambertin Cazetiers

Bruno Clair, Gevrey Chambertin Cazetiers(from 40+ year old vines). This is quite ripe yet very fresh with its less aromatically refined and pungent nose of earth, underbrush, stone, cassis and plum. The ripeness carries over to the supporting structural elements as well as the mid palate that is both concentrated and velvety, coating the mouth with dry extract on the superbly complex, balanced and seriously long finish. This is terrific and as I have repeatedly said with respect to Clairs

Lovely juice and this is really quite classy

It's a series that has set the bar extraordinarily high

the 2005 is constantly changing in the glass

This extremely promising and stylish effort will need to develop better depth to merit the upper end of my projected range but if it does this could be brilliant

The vineyard is in Torroja where the soils are slate and for Dominik slate works better with Cariñena

This is only a couple of steps behind the 2010 albeit cut from a different clothe
