Apricot VIII

Apricot VIIISize 5 1 2" x 7" Capturing a summer labor of love as we do our best to care for our apricot trees. There is a sweetness and a sadness to when the apricots are ready because for us it means summer is almost halfway over. With the "apricot Collection" I wanted to capture the fruit in an almost marbled state by not over blending the brush strokes. I chose a dark navy paint for the background with hints of a vibrant blue to create a stark contrast.
