The cool and restrained nose is mostly comprised by notes of mineral reduction though there are background nuances of iodine

This doesn’t seem to have its usual focus though I do like the intensity and persistence

A tad beery

There is a finer mouthfeel to the seductively textured middle weight flavors that deliver excellent length for a villages level wine

As is typically the case this is more deeply pitched with more obviously sauvage inflected aromas of various dark berries

The 2002 is slowly starting to reach its perfect maturity that will keep for many years

Still holding on to its last gasp of youth here

Wonderfully elegant in the mouth with vibrant black and red fruits

Lush and plush velvety tannins unfold to a refined and almost powdery texture
