He was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and came from a family of renowned Dutch mapmakers and publishers. One of Dancker Danckerts' notable works is the "Orbis Terrarum Tabula Recens Emendata Et In Lucem Edita Per Dancker Danckerts" ("A Recently Corrected and Published Map of the World by Dancker Danckerts"), which was published in 1663.
