This is a caudiciform that is either unbranched or will make a few side branches. In time it can reach several feet tall. It is a succulent but doesn't like to be as dry as a cactus. So water when the soil is starting to get dry. It may drop leaves in the winter depending on growing conditions, but will regrow in the spring. Makes

This species has both a purple flower form and a yellow flower form
