SOLD……A dyed green 19th century lace bobbin.A bone lace bobbin which was dyed green and decoratively turned so removing some of the stain. In excellent condition usable. NB. Lace making was a cottage industry using domestic animal bone and local soft woods not ivory. Stock no. KS12

One guard has a horizontal break in it which has been supported by a piece of thin wood and then the lace reattached
It is in good condition with no damage but the colour is stronger towards the head of the bobbin and more worn towards the tail presumably through handling
A red leather case with engraved silver trim containing an 1807 almanac covered in green silk
One of the two blown glass bottles has an unmarked silver cover
The pink silk tape is printed and starts at 1
10cm extended
In excellent condition other than staining to the linen backing ( see photo )
The piece is in good order other than damage to the inner sleeve
