Sparkly Zincite Gem 6.1ctThis is a zincite crystal that I faceted. It weighs in at 6. 1ct. These crystals grew unintentionally in a Polish zinc refinery smokestack which was demolished in the 70s. It is also filled with sparkly zinc crystals. These unfortunately also cause unavoidable scratching in the final polish but they also add a rainbow sheen when viewed from the right angle. The stone also has some minor chipping.

The stone measures about 21 x 20 x 19mm and weighs in at 54g

deep red base color and vivid red fluorescence have made it an all-time classic

a giant green LuAG cut to match the look of the chaos emeralds in Sonic 3 and Knuckles

Its only real downside is its hardness of 5 and brittleness

Note these stones glow blue to varying amounts under shortwave UV because of titanium contamination
