The original protective pouch with the name of the luxury jeweller 'Donovan & Seamans Co.' is also present. This is a high quality item that will retain its luxurious appearance and never need to be cleaned. The lid, interior & base are decorated with the most beautiful bright cut engraving. The lid is 'gem' set and in the middle an exquisite arbor vitae

The lid lifts to reveal a large clear mirror which gives a perfect reflection

This composition of 800 silver lends itself to the creation of dark patina which is particularly pleasing on pieces of this genre

There is no indication that this has ever been used to store face powder
