Rhodochrosite on Quartz with SphaleriteThe Champion Mine is well known to Colorado collectors, but specimens are seldom available on the market. This piece features several sharp, well formed, lustrous, translucent, vivid pink color, compressed rhombohedra of Rhodochrosite forming semi "rosette" shaped groups sitting on contrasting white Quartz and black Sphalerite matrix with small bits of Pyrite sprinkled here and there. This is a showy display specimen from this hard to find locality in

steel grey crystals of this rare lead

The Brookites measure up to 7 mm long and are notably free-standing (not lying flat) on the matrix

and then a more notable forest green hue with a somewhat silvery color near the base of the crystal

repeating skeletal or "hoppered" lines is dramatic and eye-catching

This one is in very good shape for this material despite a little bit of roughness here and there but just look at how sharp and lustrous the crystals are

medium rich blue-green colored crystals of Amazonite with slight "white cap" terminations

it remains a fine crystal of a species that is not typically found in such sharp and lustrous examples
