Schaueria flavicoma

Schaueria flavicomaLimited stock Commonly known as Golden Plume and is native to Brazil. Grows well in part shade, frost free zones, and protected from the hot midday afternoon sun in Summer. Endowed with quirky, yellow, feathery bracts containing small white flowers, which balance its deep green foliage beautifully. Grows to 1. 5m high, and 1. 5m wide. Regular pruning will encourage new flowers and help keep shape.

Produces more flowers than other Geums due to the fact that it won't set seed

reflected in the species name tectorum

and in milder climates will lie dormant over winter or is often treated as an annual in frost prone zones

Grows best in half sun to part shade

Finely dissected aromatic grey green leaves give support to upright slender spires of lavender blue flowers

Needs a well drained soil with plenty of sunshine

needing only a cut back to ground level once a year

We like to leave the dead heads on the plants after flowering
