The artist, Josef Steiner (1910 1981), has rendered the various fungi with skill and a keen attention to detail. Steiner was known for his exquisite still lifes that drew influence from the 17th century Dutch masters. The painting is signed Reinold, which is a pseudonym, and housed within an appropriate frame.
